THERAPEUTIC & DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
For rehabilitation of injured, overused or stressed muscles and to decrease chronic and acute pain. Many techniques are utilized including trigger point therapy, muscle stripping, and some cranial techniques.
CANCER CARE
I have additional training in massage therapy during radiation and chemotherapy treatments, as well as treating side effects such as Lymphedema (see right), Axillary Web Syndrome (see right), Scar Management and Mobility Issues.

An appointment pre-surgery allows for baseline measurements of limb circumference and lymphedema education, so you know what to look for in spotting lymphedema and what to avoid, as well as discussions around mobility restrictions post-surgery and the importance of scar management.
Please contact me with any questions regarding your care.

MANUAL LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

Indicated for general enhancement of your immune system functioning and over-all health. When the lymph system works well, we feel healthy and have a strong defense against illness. When it’s sluggish or blocked—say after surgery or an injury—we can have swelling, feel tired, and be more susceptible to colds and infections. Lymphatic massage is also a component of CDT.

COMBINED DECONGESTIVE THERAPY (CDT)

The gold standard treatment protocol for management of swelling and lymphedema. In the initial phase of treatment clients are seen 2 times per week (the first appointment is for 90 minutes), and weened off over consecutive weeks. Treatment intensity is dependent on the extent of the lymphedema and the client's compliance with home-care. See 'About Lymphedema' tab for more on the treatment protocol.

If your lymphedema is due to cancer intervention you must have a clean pathology report before treatment can begin, unless this is palliative management.

Some lymphedema responds well to taping between lymphatic drainage sessions, which I also offer.
CORDING (AXILLARY WEB SYNDROME)

A common side effect of breast cancer surgery, axillary web syndrome (also known as cording) as well as soft tissue restrictions from surgical intervention result in decreased range of motion making everyday activities difficult. This is treatable.
